Hanworth Villa recorded the biggest result in the club's 35-year history with victory over Slough Town in this Third Qualifying Round replay.
In front of a capacity crowd at Rectory Meadows, Slough took the lead thanks to Sean Sonner's header, but the Villains turned the game on its head in the second half, blowing the Rebels away with goals from King and Shaun Preddie.
King's unmarked header from a corner sealed the win against a below-par Slough, and ensured Hanworth's large following can look forward to a trip to AFC Totton in the next round.
It could have been so different for Slough though, as the Rebels controlled the first half and should have gone into the half-time break with more than a one-goal lead.
In the very first minute Dan Burnell had a sight of goal, but his fierce drive from outside the box was punched away by Terry Buss.
As in the first game, Hanworth were quick to press Slough in all areas of the pitch and give them no time to settle – but on the one occasion Steve Sinclair broke clear of the shackles of his marker, he whipped across a great ball which Sean Sonner ran onto and headed into the bottom corner to give Slough a great start.
Lee Higgs denied Slough a second soon after, the full back clearing Burnell’s low cross away with Sinclair ready to pounce in the six yard box.
At this point, Hanworth’s noisy following had been quietened and the game had been settled down, with Slough playing possession football and frustrating their opponents. Hanworth were restricted only to long-range efforts from Levi King, one of which flew just a yard over James Warrington’s bar.
Ten minutes into the second half, the underdogs were level, and it had been on the cards after a strong start. A cross from the left side was fumbled by Warrington, and King was on hand to fire the rebound into the roof of the net.
The momentum swung dramatically back in Hanworth’s favour thereafter. Paul Coyne and Shaun Byrne had shots wide, but the hosts were looking much the more likely to score again – and should have done so after the Slough defence were all at sea, but the ball was twice fired across the six yard box with nobody able to get a telling touch.
But the goal did come for Hanworth – with 69 minutes played, Shaun Preddie drilled a low shot from the edge of the box which beat Warrington at his near post and sent the Ranch into raptures.
Steve Bateman immediately replaced Burnell with Charlie Mpi as Slough looked for an immediate response, but instead Hanworth continued to overwhelm the Rebels and just three minutes later, the killer blow was struck to Slough’s FA Cup dream as former Hampton & Richmond reserve King headed home his second from a corner.
Time was running out for Slough, but still the Rebels could muster no response until Buss was forced to tip a shot over the bar, with Sonner heading straight at the keeper from the resulting corner.
With goal hero King having been replaced to a fine ovation, Mpi had one final chance for Slough, but put his effort wide.
