Slough went out of another cup competition, this time the Full Members Cup, after a early Michael Morgan cross-shot sent the visitors through.
With the players' coach delayed in traffic and the supporters' mini bus unable to get out of Slough due to problems with the fuel gauge, the omens did not look good for the visitors from the start.
Bromley, with the wind behind their backs, controlled the opening exchanges and took the lead with their first dangerous attack of the opening 10 minutes.
A cross-shot by Michael Morgan, a recent signing from Welling United, was mis-judged by goalkeeper Danny Honey and flew into the back of the Slough net.
Soon after Bromley had another effort which nearly gave them a 2-0 lead, but the effort was cleared off the line.
At this stage of the match there was only one team in the game - Bromley. A cross from the right also caused problems when Honey's weak punch fell straight into the path of Kyte who saw his fierce effort hit the post and rebound to safety.
This scare seemed to wake the Rebels up and they had a lot of possession in the last 25 minutes before the break. Most of their attacking threats came from Dylan Kerr down the left, but despite his good balls in from the left flank, no Slough attacker could get anywhere near the ball.
Slough stepped up their efforts after the break and had several chances to level the scoring. Their first came 10 minutes after the break when Marshall cut inside the Bromley full-back, but after doing all the hard work and creating a good opportunity for himself he blazed the ball well over the bar with his left foot.
Slough's next opportunity fell to Dave Rainford. Kerr played another excellent ball Into the area, which was met by the head of Rainford, but the ball was cleared off the line.
Slough did think they had grabbed a last-minute equaliser when Marshall played the ball through to Hall, who duly slotted home, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside.
