Slough hosted Margate on Saturday hoping to follow up on last weekends excellent win at Leyton but they had to settle for a point in the end against their visitors from Kent.

Matt Seedel led the line in the absence of the injured Ian Hodges. Slough didn't get off to the best of starts as Mark Avery attempted to nod the ball back to Clark Masters but inadvertently put it past the keeper who had advanced of his line to collect the ball which Avery had headed in.

Avery put a long ball through to the run of Andy Ballard who had beaten Paul Egan to the ball and lofted the ball over the keepr from just inside the box but it also cleared the bar and landed on top of the net.

Masters pulled off a fine save to keep the visitors lead as Bertie Brayley received a cut back to hit a great strike before Slough got back on level terms. Ballard knocked the ball on and Hasin Deen's attempted clearance went towards his own goal. Garath McCleary stole in between the defender and the onrushing Egan to flick the ball over the keepers head and into the empty net.

Slough nearly took the lead through Steve Daly as he headed towards goal from a corner. Egan made a hash of the save and was relieved to see one of his defenders hook the ball off the line.

Slough took the lead in the sixth minute of the second half. A long ball through from Josias Carbon found its way far too deep into Margate's penalty area and McCleary stole in with a run inside from the left wing to volley home from eight yards of Egan.

Brayley brought the scores level with a well taken finish, controlling the ball on his chest before volleying past Masters from inside the box.

Slough were reduced to ten men when McCleary was sent off following a strong challenge on Greg Oates.

Matt Seedel thrashed one wide for Slough from a narrow angle and Steve Daly's missed interception allowed Brayley in at the other end, but Masters did enough to force the striker wide and his effort could only find the side netting. Ian Hilaire also tested Masters with a powerful drive but the keeper pushed the ball over the bar.

Slough held on comfortably in the remaining minutes to earn themselves another point, although with both sides near the foot of the table, it may not be of benefit to either.
