In what can best be described as a dour local derby, Chesham United found themselves emerging victorious in a game with very little action to it.
Chesham got the opening chance of the game with the impressive Storer after a clearance fell to him on the edge of the Slough box. His early effort though failed to find the target, as the Slough defence closed him down quickly.
The match quickly settled into a dour affair with both midfields cancelling each other out, and when the ball did get through, both defences were winning the battles.
Slough's first chance of the game came after some good build up play saw Rainford put a through ball into Marshall's path. As his run took him into the box, he hesitated in hitting an early shot, and in turn laid the ball off to Black, but the young midfielder's first touch let him down as the ball ran through to Preddie.
Shortly after, a mistake at the back by Chesham, presented Hall (pictured right) with the ball, and his early chipped effort had Preddie worried but the ball went narrowly wide.
Chesham broke quickly for their next chance and a back post cross to Brown presented the midfielder with a good opportunity but he struck his shot wide when he should have hit the target.
The next chance came also to Chesham after a cross found Campbell on the edge of the area in space, but his shot went well over Honey's bar in the Slough goal.
Shortly after came Chesham's best chance of the half when Renner stabbed the ball goalwards in the midst of a scramble in the Slough box, but saw hiseffort hit the outside of the post and out for a goal kick.
Chesham started in the best possible fashion to the second half when a left wing cross was cleared to the edge of the Slough area where Renner hit an unstoppable effort into the top corner leaving Honey stranded.
Chesham now took control of the game and began to restrict Slough's chances. In the same process, they were also the more dangerous side in attack, with Renner and Campbell's movement upfront causing no end of problems for the back line of Slough.
Brown was unlucky not to extend Chesham's lead after 58 when he got past two Slough challenges on the edge, but hit his effort wide of Honey's left hand post. Slough's best chance of the second half fell to Hall, when his direct free kick came off the outside of the post with Preddie beaten.
Storer nearly extended Chesham's lead, when he was allowed to run across the edge of the area, but again, could not find the target with his effort. Fox was next to find space for a shot, but his effort was comfortably saved by Honey in the Slough goal.
With five minutes remaining, Renner broke through to present himself with a one on one opportunity with Honey. As he attempted to round the keeper, he was brought down, Honey was booked, and the penalty awarded. Storer stepped up and sent Honey the wrong way putting his side two in front.
Slough continued to try and find a way through the Chesham defence, and with Townley playing upfront after the injury to Deaner, it was always crosses on which Slough looked most likely to get anything.
In the final minute of the game, Hall got past his marker and put in a back post cross which was met by Townley, but the big defender, on as a sub, could not direct his header goalbound.
