Junior Haynes
A 73rd-minute strike from Junior Haynes gave Slough their first ever points against an in-form Heybridge side.
Neither side started the match particularly well, but it was Heybridge who had the early chances, which fell to both Payne and Simpson, but neither of them could capitalise on their good situations.
Slough had their first opportunity shortly after when Browne crossed from the right and Haynes headed wide with keeper Banks beaten.
Five minutes before half-time Slough could, and maybe should have taken the lead. Haynes played the ball through to the lively Richardson who blazed his effort over the bar.
Two minutes into the second half Heybridge had an excellent chance to take the lead. Kemp's mistake let in the speedy Simpson who saw his effort well saved by Honey low to his right.
Heybridge's top scorer was not be denied though because on 63 minutes Haydon put Simpson through on goal and he fired the ball into the back of the net leaving Honey with no chance.
Ten minutes later the Rebels equalised. Richardson ran at Waters and crossed for Haynes who made no mistake from five yards.
Mark Hawthorne then twice had good efforts for Slough. The first was cleared off the line by Taylor, and the second, which he struck from the edge of the area went inches wide with Banks beaten.
Soon after half chances fell to Barrowcliff and Marshall for Slough and Taylor for Heybridge, but neither side could convert them and the points were shared.
Slough should not be too disappointed with a point as they were down to their last fully fit eleven players. Substitutes Dwight
Marshall and Chris White were still recovering from injuries and although Eddie Denton was also a sub, he had no chance of playing.
