Craig Rocastle

Craig Aaron Rocastle is a football player of Grenadian and Trinidadian descent.

He plays primarily as a midfielder and is a cousin of the late England and Arsenal midfielder David Rocastle. Rocastle joined Slough following a season at Kingstonian where he made 28 appearances in the 2002/3 season.

Making the move across to Slough, making 13 appearances without a goal in his time at the club, it was met with a little surprise that Rocastle emerged over the summer at Chelsea. Rocastle has extensive experience in the Chelsea reserve side and has appeared once on the bench for the Russian owned club. He was also a member of the QPR squad that was sent into administration a few years ago. It was there Rocastle dropped out of the professional game joining up with Gravesend and Northfleet. Rocastle signed with Chelsea in 2003, but never made the first team. He looked to gain first team experience and had several loan spells over the next couple of years at Lincoln City, Barnsley and most notably Hibernian. He joined Sheffield Wednesday at the beginning of 2005 from Chelsea. He signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Wednesday, but after around a year at the club he fell out of favour and was advised to find a new club by manager Paul Sturrock. Rocastle spent the end of the 2005-06 season on loan at Yeovil Town. On 30th June 2006 Rocastle's contract at Wednesday was terminated by mutual consent. A few days later he signed for Oldham Athletic on a free transfer. He went on to help them to the League One play-off semi-final but fell out of favour. On the 8th June 2007 he signed a two year deal to join Port Vale but quickly fell out of favour. Rocastle was sent to League One Gillingham on loan on the 10th January 2008 and He made his debut in a 3–1 away win over Huddersfield Town on 12 January 2008. However he quickly fell out of favour with the Kent club, making only one further appearance. Rocastle returned to Port Vale but was not able to regain his first team place.

On 29th April 2008, Rocastle's contract was once again terminated by mutual consent. He is now currently under trial at St Mirren Football Club of Scotland.
