Slough Town came from a goal down to defeat Tonbridge Angels at Arbour Park, writes Henry Cheal.
Inside the first 8 minutes, Slough were behind as a mistake from Mark Nisbet in the box resulted in a goal from Jake Embery, who beat North from close range.
On the half hour mark Tonbridge were forced to make an early change due to an injury for Ricky Modeste, who was eventually replaced by Olutade.
Quickly after, Slough were on the back foot as a Tonbridge attack almost resulted into a two-goal lead, but North was there to deny Embery and keep the ball out of goal.
Ben Harris almost found a way to bring the game back on level terms as he intercepted the ball from Tonbridge’s defence, but he couldn’t keep the ball down.
Just before half time, Freddie Grant was a whisker away from scoring but the ball curled just past the far corner of the goal as he struck from outside the box.
The following attack proved to be vital for Slough as Alfonso Tenconi scored his third goal for the senior team as he was the last player to get a touch in from a Guy Hollis long throw.
The second half was much more positive for the Rebels, who pressed for a winner. It almost arrived on 54 minutes as Matthew Lench’s corner was met by Hollis, whose bullet header hit the bar.
Sonny Miles had a great chance to score for Tonbridge a few minutes later, but North made a smart save before Slough hacked the ball clear.
Tenconi almost came close to scoring his second goal of the day thanks to substitute Max Worsfold’s cross, but he couldn’t keep the ball down after Angels keeper Henly had initially done brilliantly to keep the ball out after one of his teammates had inadvertently touched it goalward.
Then with 14 minutes left to play, Slough finally completed their comeback as Aaron Kuhl kept his cool and slotted it home inside the penalty area following a great run from Eitel Goueth and pass from Worsfold.
Tonbridge almost grabbed an equaliser as the game approached 90 minutes, but Olutade headed wide from a delivery into the box.
