In the final cup game of the sequence of three, Slough made it back to back wins as they overcame a Salisbury side on Tuesday night. Goals from Ryan Spencer and two from Matt Murphy saw the Rebels progress to the quarter finals of the Bryco Cup.
The first half was a scrappy affair. Both sides were having periods of play, but neither was creating a clear view of goal and troubling the opposing keeper.
Carbon had a good opportunity to open the scoring but shot over from the edge of the area. Seven minutes later, Slough did take the lead. Haddow worked the ball down to the left byline before cutting back to Harris. Harris struck the ball low into a crowded penalty area and the ball bounced back to Spencer who hit a low shot across the box into the far corner.
Slough doubled their lead with thirty two minutes gone. The ball was worked to Harris in the middle of the park and his through ball found the run of Matt Murphy who touched the ball to the side of the keeper and then picked his spot in the net despite the best efforts of the covering defender.
Slough extneded their lead after sixty six minutes. Murphy doubled his tally, receiving the ball on the right hand channel just inside the area and his well struck shot flew into the far corner of the net.
Salisbury did have a late chance to grab a consolation, but Wallace shot well over.
