Junior Haynes
Two goals from Rebels winger Junior Haynes helped Slough record only their second home victory of the season against a battling Dulwich side. The home side started brightly and could have been ahead after two minutes. Haynes found himself with only James Mercer to beat, but his low shot was well saved by the Dulwich goalkeeper.
After eleven minutes Slough took the lead. Michael Bartley was fouled in the area by Tom Moorhouse. Simon Ullathorne confidently despatched the penalty into the net. They added a second twelve minutes later. Clement James crossed from the left and Haynes headed the ball past Mercer to give the Rebels a two-goal cushion. The Rebels had another chance soon after. A corner made it's way to James who saw his powerful effort cleared off the line by former Rebel Al-James Hannigan.
Slough received a blow just before half-time when Simon Ullathorne had to go off with an eye injury, to be replaced by Dominic Gentle Dulwich had a chance to half the deficit just before the break when Oliver Hunt found himself with space in the area, but he shot well wide under pressure.
Slough went three goals ahead on fifty-seven minutes. The dangerous James crossed from the left for Haynes to grab his second of the match. Soon after Dulwich introduced new signing Eben Allen. His pace and power seemed to give Dulwich more of an attacking threat up front. It was Allen who played the killer pass for Luke Edghill to pull a goal back with twenty-five minutes remaining.
Slough defence was looking shaky at this point and Dulwich grabbed a second with ten minutes remaining when Charlie Side finished well from inside the six-yard box. The away side came perilously close to grabbing a point when Side found himself free in the area. His shot had Slough goalkeeper Gary McCann beaten only for the ball to drift just wide. Slough held the ball successfully in the corners for the remaining minutes and there was no repeat of last years match where Dulwich grabbed an equaliser in the remaining minutes - much to the delight of the home support.
