Slough Town boss Steve Browne slated his players for an abysmal performance on Saturday when they were well beaten on their travels to Billericay.

And Browne underlined his feelings about his players' commitment when he revealedthat he would withhold the 30 or so complimentary tickets that the players would normally receive for the Hungerford game on Tuesday and give them to the fans who travelled to the Billericay game.

He said: "The supporters travelled to Essex and paid their hard earned cash to watch a performance which was not acceptable. They need to be given something in return, so I am making arrangements for them to have the players' tickets for the Hungerford game. The fans should check with the Supporters Club."

Billericay, who had not won in their previous six league games, worked harder and an efficient performance had them 3-1 up by half-time which left Slough with too much to do.

Browne said: "We did not show the commitment necessary - we must be more positive in these games. We looked as though we couldn't be bothered."

Slough, though, had the best of starts, taking the lead after four minutes through Mark Hall. Lee Gledhill put in a good cross from right, met by Ben Strevens who knocked the ball down for Hall to drive home a left foot shot.

But Slough failed to push on and take command and instead allowed Billericay to get back at them.

It did not take long for the home side to expose Slough's defensive frailties as on seven minutes they were level. A mix up between Chris White and Mark Hawthorne as they went to clear the ball saw it rebound for Williams to pick his spot in an open net.

After a missed effort by Dwight Marshall, Billericay took the lead when Mickey Engwell was outpaced by Baker who was able to take his time to pick out the unmarked Gentle at the far post who made no mistake.

Billericay made it 3-1 on 35 minutes when poor clearing led to a free kick which was well put away by Parratt. Slough got more bodies forward in the second half and had chances to get back into it. But the early complacency gave them too much to do and the match slipped away from them.
