Slough Town scored their greatest league triumph of the season at Redhill on Monday evening when they slammed the Surrey side by seven clear goals and greatly improved their chances of retaining the Athenian championship.

The first goal of the match was the team's 101st of the season. After crossing over a goal up Slough dominated the second half and it was one way traffic to the Redhill goal. O'Sullivan hit a hat-trick and Chatterton scored twice, while Mead and Day completed the bag.

Slough were without D'Arcy but Swadling who deputised had a good game, in fact, the second half showing stamped the Town as a class side and the Walton spies present must have gone home given much food for thought.

Slough started off in whirlwind fashion and had five corners in the first six minutes but Redhill steadied up and the first goal did not come until the 35th minute when Anthony was brought down in the box and Day converted from the spot.

The second half saw the Town on the rampage from start to finish and in the 54th minute Gain hit the bar and Chatterton following up headed a good goal. After this Redhill did not know what had hit them and the scoring went like this, 55th minute O'Sullivan, 59th minute Mead, 61st minute O'Sullivan, 69th minute O'Sullivan and finally in the 70th minute the best goal of the match by Chatterton.
