Premier Midweek FL
Slough Town had a very hard game at Church Road, Hayes, on Tuesday evening when they featured in a goalless draw in the Premier Mid-Week Floodlit League.

Martin Swadling, Slough's promising 17-year-old striker, was watched by scouts of Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers. Four former Slough players were in the Hayes side, managed by ex-Slough manager Bob Gibbs.

This was a needle match with Hayes adopting a very physical attitude and Bell of Hayes and O'Sullivan of Slough were booked. Much of the play was in midfield, but there was always plenty of bite but not a lot of good football.

Slough had more chances in the first half but found the Hayes defence very tight and their constant use of offside tactics seemed to frustrate Slough's front runners.

The second half was a repetition of the first. Bell, one of Slough’s ex-players, was booked in the first half and O'Sullivan's name went into the book towards the end of the game. Hatt, Kent and Wilkes were the other ex-Slough men in Hayes shirts.
