The Rebels bounced back from their devastating defeat to Bath City in emphatic style after edging past Hampton & Richmond Borough at Arbour Park, writes Richard Ali Imaghod.

The game finished 2-1 with Slough winning virtually in the last minute of the game.

Hampton & Richmond had a series of half chances in the first half, especially in the 35th minute mark where Tommy Wood was played through on goal but his effort went wide.

The away side continued to push for the lead in the second half as Rhys Forster - making his debut in place of the unavailable Jonathan North - produced a fingertip save to deny Tommy Wood’s header.

With 71 minutes gone, Stefan Ilic gave the visitors the lead after providing a deft finish from close range, which was aided by a great passage of play in the build up.

George Wells really turned up on his special occasion, scoring the equaliser on his 150th appearance for the Rebels after heading Matt Lench’s corner home.

Slough continued to push on for the winner and were a completely different team for the last 10 minutes of the game.

Their efforts paid off in exhilarating fashion as George Wells' initial flick-on from a long Guy Hollis throw was finished off by Imran Kayani from close range in the last few seconds of the game.
