Slough continued their promotion push with a comfortable sixth straight home win against mid-table King's Lynn.

The Rebels’ victory was, for the most part, comfortable with the visitors offering little particularly after Liam Enver-Marum’s first goal for the club early in the second half

In the reverse fixture back in January, Lynn raced into a five-goal half time lead, but there was to be no repeat at Arbour Park as Slough took an early lead.

Linnets goalkeeper Alex Street had already made a reaction save by his post to keep the ball out after Chris Flood had blocked a clearance, but on seven minutes he was powerless to stop the unmarked Flood heading in at the far post from James Dobson's free kick.

The visitors broke away quickly on 17 minutes, with Toby Hillard drifting inside from the left but scuffing his shot wide of Shaun Rowley’s goal.

Slough doubled their lead on 25 minutes with the dynamic Simon Dunn reaching double figures for the season as he side footed in from Warren Harris' low driven ball across goal.

Four minutes later, Flood appealed in vain for a goal after his header was cleared on the line, but Lynn managed to get the ball clear.

The visitors were by no means finished, and created chances, with Hillard putting a header off target and Ryan Hannwell finding himself crowded out in the penalty area. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Michael Clunan fired off target after Hillard’s route to goal was blocked.

Slough took their two-goal lead into the interval despite not being at their best, and despite a good start to the second half from the visitors, the Rebels added a third goal to effectively end King’s Lynn’s hopes of taking a positive result back to Norfolk.

Dunn turned provider this time, threading the ball through to Enver-Marum – making his first start in place of Gavin James - who was clear of the last defender. He drew Street out of his goal before taking the ball round him and slotting in, with Sam Cartwright unable to get back in time to block.

The home side could have added further goals to their tally, but Street did well to make a save from Dobson after the winger was played in by Lee Togwell. From the resulting corner, Flood was left frustrated as he was only able to head over the bar.

Defending set pieces was proving to be a problem for the visitors, and twice more Flood got up to meet corner kicks, forcing Street into a save with one and heading the other over, whilst substitute Callum Bunting later did the same.

The visitors were well restricted by Slough, but did manage to flash one low ball across Rowley’s goal which was just out of Hillard’s reach ten minutes from time.

Rowley made his first meaningful save in stoppage time as he held a headed effort.
