Two goals in three second half minutes turned this game around for Slough Town, who left Stratford with all three points after once again coming from behind.
Fulham loanee Elijah Adebayo, who the club have now managed to secure the services of for another month, grabbed the winning goal on 76 minutes after Warren Harris had finished smartly into the bottom corner with Slough heaping the pressure on.
Stratford had the better of the first half and started well – Mark Scott needed to be quick off his line to head the ball away as Taylor was played through on goal, and Edwin Ahenkorah threatened down the right hand side as he broke clear of the offside trap, but Mark Nisbet got back to tackle him.
Slough’s attacks largely fizzled out, with James Dobson the main provider from set pieces – and the hosts then took the lead with 26 minutes played.
Stratford were awarded a free kick which Will Grocott swung in for the in-form Richard Gregory to lift a header over Scott and down into the far corner of the net.
The lead could have been doubled two minutes later as Mike Taylor and Simeon Tulloch combined to create a chance for Ahenkorah, but his blast at goal was blocked by the legs of Scott.
Slough threatened with a series of corners in response, with Nathan Webb having an effort blocked, but Niall Cooper remained unthreatened until Lee Togwell’s 25-yarder was easily held.
The second half was a very different story as the Rebels grew into the game and started to create good chances. Indeed, Webb, Harris and then Adebayo all had chances to level in the opening ten minutes.
Adebayo chased down a long ball forward and forced a save from Cooper, and after Webb had a shot blocked, Harris headed a Paul Stonehouse cross goalwards, only for Cooper to push the ball wide.
Slough pushed on with Lewis Putman replacing Dobson, and Harris went close twice more, but shot into the side netting after bursting through and then volleyed over from close range shortly after.
It looked as if Slough’s equaliser would never come, but on 74 minutes a Guy Hollis long throw was flicked on by substitute Gurkan Gokmen and Harris swung his right boot at the ball and sent it past Cooper’s outstretched arm and into the bottom corner.
It took Slough just three minutes to take the lead. After Adebayo had sent a free header straight into Cooper’s arms, the striker controlled a long pass forward from skipper Sean Fraser and finished confidently past Cooper before rushing off to celebrate with the travelling supporters.
Three minutes remained when Gregory claimed he had been fouled in the penalty area, but his appeals for a spot kick were waved away, and Slough were able to see off the challenge of Stratford in the time that remained to claim all three points.
