Two goals apiece from Ed Smith and Kyle Anthony secured a sensational win at title-chasing Rugby.
Slough restricted a dangerous Rugby side to very few chances, and ended their 13 match winning run at their Butlin Road home.
The best chance for Rugby fell to the feet of top scorer David Kolodynski, scorer of the late winning goal at Burnham on Tuesday, but he was denied by a superb tackle from Dave Woozley after good play from Lewis McBride.
After a superb win at Godalming on Tuesday, Slough needed to pull off another win to keep their playoff hopes alive, and took the lead with 28 minutes played as Ed Smith calmly converted a penalty, conceded by Rugby midfielder Steve Palmer as he clumsily felled Jake Parsons.
Rugby tried to work their way back into the game, but McBride fired a shot wide and the pacy Seb Lake-Gaskin could only shoot straight at Jamie Jackson before the break.
Slough looked the more likely to score again in the second half and, after Dave Bevan had kept out an effort from Smith, Slough were awarded a second penalty after Alex Austin tripped Ryan O’Toole. Smith again beat Bevan to double the lead.
Slough had two efforts ruled out for offside and Smith hit the outside of a post, but the visitors struck twice more in the final three minutes to cap off a tremendous performance.
On 87 minutes, Kyle Anthony was left unmarked to convert a deep free kick from Dave Deeney.
Two minutes later Anthony scored his second as he beat Bevan after he and substitute Adam Logie had both seen shots blocked.
Lake-Gaskin forced Jackson into a save late on, but the keeper kept his sheet clean and Slough ended a hectic week with two superb victories.
