Deaner received his second red card of the season on Saturday, as the Rebels got off to a shaky start in the FA Cup against Fleet at Wexham Park.

The former Newbury striker was dismissed on Saturday after he elbowed Fleet's Tommy Taylor as the pair went up for a header. He became the third player to be sent off for the Rebels in just two games, leaving acting coach Paul Hardyman with three players facing lengthy suspensions.

Deaner's strike partner Graeme McVie looked to have set the Rebels on their way to the third qualifying round, but Fleet battled hard and looked the more organised side as Slough missed good opportunities to kill off the game.

Fleet scored the crucial goal seven minutes before half-time, thanks to some clinical finishing by Mark Frampton.

And the Rebels came close to an early FA Cup exit when Fleet hit the side netting in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
