Tommy Langley made sure that history didn't repeat itself in the AC Delco Cup on Tuesday.

Slough have crashed out to Division One opposition five times in the last nine seasons and they looked like being on the wrong end of another shock against Lewes until Langley stepped in. The former Chelsea star, without a goal in his previous five matches, notched the Rebels equaliser in the 71st minute and then set up the winner for Neal Stanley five minutes later.

Lewes had grabbed a shock lead in the 43rd minute when giant centre-back Grant Horscroft headed home Matthew Wiltshire's corner. Langley finally ended Slough's frustration when he found time and space to latch onto the end of Stanley's cross and nod the equaliser over visiting 'keeper Phil Hammond.

Langley returned the compliment almost immediately, picking out the unmarked Stanley with a measured cross that was knocked past Hammond for the winner.
