League
Slough Town retained their unbeaten League record by forcing a draw at Edgware last Saturday.
They were a little unfortunate to leave a point behind, but they can only blame themselves for discarding a chance to win the match when with the score at three all, and fifteen minutes to go, they failed to score with a penalty kick.
It was rather surprising that Edgware whose forwards were not very inspiring, managed to score three goals. Admittedly the Slough defence was not always the stronghold that it usually is, but allowances must be made for the peculiar contours of the Edgware ground.
Slough made one team change from the previous week, W. Nicholls was given a trial at left back, and no doubt will be given an extended trial.
The home side went in front after twenty minutes, when with the visitors' defence in a tangle, Conner put through.
After a shaky start, Slough began to assert themselves, and Angell, Parham and Clements indulged in some delightful moves, which resulted in the whole forward line getting in several dangerous shots; but they must have felt discouraged when their team was another goal in arrears after thirty minutes.
Ade, inside right, who was given far too much space, came in to crash the ball past Wiltshire.
With less than five minutes to the interval it seemed certain that Slough would have to start the second half two goals behind, but when the interval arrival they had levelled the score.
Angell put in a hard drive which Owen was unable to hold, and quick to see his chance he followed up to open his side's account.
Immediately on the attack again, a nice flick near goal by Kornas presented Parham with an easy chance who made the score two all.
Ten minutes after the restart, Edgware regained the lead with the Slough defence wide open, Wiltshire had no alternative but to advance from his goal in the hope of preventing Goddard from scoring. but the man in possession neatly lobbed the ball into the net.
Parham equalised with his second of the game for Slough.
