The Rebels were held to an entertaining 0-0 draw at home to 10-man Concord Rangers at Arbour Park, writes Sam Pryke.
On 29 minutes, Rangers attacker Mo Bettamer was given his marching orders after a dangerous late tackle on the colossal Luca Woodhouse, which gave Slough hope of asserting dominance.
Prior to the dismissal, Slough rattled the woodwork after just three minutes. Scott Davies drove a delightful ball into the area where veteran debutant Jefferson Louis glanced a header onto the foot of the post.
Shortly after, George Hunt and Aaron Kuhl both had goal bound strikes blocked by a resilient Concord defence, after a corner was only half-cleared.
After an electric start, the game settled with Josh Jackman firing over in what was the only other chance of note before the red card.
Before the interval, Scott Davies went close after the ball fell kindly to him outside the area, his rasping drive flew just wide with Mitchell Beeney rooted to the spot in goal for Concord.
The second half begun with the Rebels struggling to break down a determined Rangers side, but Slough went so close to opening the scoring just after the hour mark.
Davies delivered a corner on the left which found Aaron Kuhl free in the centre of the box, but he glanced his header wide when the goal was gaping.
On 74, great link up play saw Slough manoeuvre through the middle of the pitch with Imran Kayani feeding Josh Jackman down the right, but he sliced the ball wide from a promising position.
Two minutes later, Louis did well to find space after he swivelled past the defender but his effort at goal was comfortably saved by the Concord stopper.
As the game entered the final stages, the visitors sat deeper and looked to frustrate the Rebels.
Jackman found himself high up the pitch and his goal bound strike in the box was repelled superbly by a defiant defence.
No other chances were created as the referee blew for full-time. Concord rarely threatened throughout the game with Rhys Forster a spectator for the majority of it.
It was a frustrating night for Slough who ought to have taken advantage of the extra man for the majority of the game. Player/manager Davies will be happy to have a clean sheet whilst ruing missed chances to get a first win in 11 matches.
