Slough Town recovered well from losing a two-goal lead to eventually win 4-2 and keep the pressure on leaders Hitchin and Bury at The Oval.
A stunning free-kick from Dean Clark put Slough back in front after Bedworth had fought back from the two goal lead provided by Steve Sinclair and Sean Sonner, before a late fourth from Simon Martin sealed the win.
Nathan Bowden-Haase had an early headed effort cleared off the line, before Elliot Buchanan forced Bedworth ‘keeper Farmer into a good block after he was released by Kean’s pass.
Slough kept the pressure up as Buchanan hit the bar with a header from Sinclair’s cross. Bedworth responded with a headed effort of their own which was cleared away from danger, but could do nothing to prevent Slough taking the lead eight minutes before the interval.
Farmer came out of his goal to clear the danger, but Steve Sinclair picked up the loose ball, beat his man and chipped the ball into an unguarded net.
The threat from the hosts was still evident as a good strike following a corner was palmed away by Perks comfortably just before half-time.
In the second half, Sean Sonner went close from distance with the outside of his right boot before getting on the scoresheet soon after. Sinclair, again a threat down the right, laid the ball off to Dean Clark who scuffed a shot towards goal. Sonner reacted quickest to the loose ball and tucked it beyond Farmer with consummate ease.
A stroke of luck arrived for Bedworth with twenty minutes remaining as a right-wing cross was touched into his own net by substitute Dean Harper, under pressure from an attacker.
Slough were dealt another blow nine minutes later as Bedworth equalised, striker Barlone emphatically heading another cross from the right past the despairing hand of Perks.
However, just a minute later Slough regained the lead with an exquisite 35-yard free-kick from Dean Clark which beat Farmer and sailed into the top corner of the goal.
Bedworth applied some late pressure, but Slough hit them on the counter-attack to seal the three points in the final minute. Kean sprayed the ball out to the left, where good play between Herron and Murphy eventually resulted in the latter squaring the ball for substitute Simon Martin to sidefoot home from a few yards out.
