Bromley went top of the league after a brutal destruction of the already relegated Slough. There are just two games to go although third-place Hampton & Richmond remain favourite to take the title being just two points behind and having two games in hand.
Sam Wood was denied by 17-year-old home keeper Carl Dennison, but he was unable to stop Tony Boot who took the ball round him and finished from a tight angle to make it 1-0 on two minutes.
On a very bumpy and difficult pitch, Bromley played passing football and also exploited Slough's high defensive line by beating them for pace with the ball over the top. Boot made it 2-0 on 15 minutes when he lashed home a partially cleared corner from 20 yards and through a crowd of players.
Nic McDonnell went close with a header from a corner soon after but he got on the score sheet after 29 minutes when he converted a brilliant cross by Simon Osborn. Boot hit the post, McDonnell forced a save out of Dennison and the young stopper also denied Peter Adeniyi before the fourth goal came on 38 minutes when McDonnell set up Boot for his hat-trick.
Barry Moore and Wood also went close before half time but the Lillywhites were happy with a four goal lead.
The second half started with Slough having their best spell of the game, but they never really tested Andy Walker in Bromley's goal and once Bromley got going again, The Rebels had no answers. McDonnell had a shot saved and Wood was also denied by Dennison before the fifth goal came on 69 minutes when sub Garath Williams turned in an Adeniyi cross from close range.
Two minutes later Williams got his second finishing off a fine ball from Moore to make it 6-0. With Slough now looking totally demoralised, Adeniyi made it 7-0 on 74 minutes with a wicked swerving drive in at the near post.
Williams and Moore both went lose before the final goal came on 79 minutes when sub Garath McCleary, playing against his old club, rolled the ball home past Dennison for 8-0.
By the final whistle most Bromley fans were left feeling sorry for a very poor Slough side who were no match for the rampant Lillywhites.
