For the second game running, Slough found themselves two goals down but unlike Saturday they could not get any points from their trip to Rookery Hill as former Rebel Tony Boot scored the winner for East Thurrock.
Boot was one of four former Rebels taking to the field for the home side with Dean Palmer, Dean Chandler and Byron Bubb joining the striker in the starting eleven as they enjoyed victory over Slough.
Steve West opened the scoring with eight minutes gone. A deftly taken free kick from the edge of the area found its way over the wall and into the near side of Michael Parkins goal. Parkin had to tip over a long range strike from Lee Burns.
The home side were well on top and Byron Bubb could have added to the score as he collected a long high ball on the left wing. Cutting inside Steve Daly, he fired over when well placed just inside the middle of the area. They soon doubled their lead with four minutes of the half remaining. Lee Burns beat his man on the right wing and his low cross evaded the runners at the near post. Daly, under pressure from West, could only divert the ball into the corner of the unprotected back post.
Having failed to create a chance of note in the first half, Slough scored with their opening chance of the second. Michael Alexis swung a free kick in from the left by the corner flag and Daly rose highest to head home from just outside the six yard box.
Eight minutes later, Slough were level. Darron Wilkinson fed the ball into the area with the outside of his right foot finding the run of his midfield partner Christian Metcalfe. Mark Hardingham reacted quickly and got out well to get a block on Metcalfe's shot but the ball ran loose and Josias Carbon ran in to finish past the despairing lunge of Steve Harrison on the line.
The Rebels joy was short lived though as six minutes later Boot found a winner for the home side. The Rebels were guilty of overplaying at the back and were caught out. Putting themselves under pressure, Mark Avery's clearance was blocked and the ball fell kindly to Boot in the area and he finished with a side footed chip over Parkin, a finish all to familiar to the Rebels who had seen him do it many times in a Slough shirt.
