Tuesday evening saw the Rebels sixth Conference fixture against the Romans and the end result brought an even record against them of two wins, two draws and two defeats.
The early play was slow and tetchy as both sides struggled to find their form and control the game. Bath had the best of the early chances with Withey taking advantage of a poor clearance to cross for Boyle, but the City player headed wide despite being well placed.
Slough too had their chances and had a goal disallowed. Following Stanley's cross from the left, Sayer nipped in to score, but the linesman's flag was already up. Slough gradually got on top and McKinnon saw his shot pushed around the post for a corner after an excellent build up involving Briley, Stanley and Sayer.
Slough's pressure finally paid off after 38 minutes. Breaking into the visitor's 18-yard box, Mark Foran's shot ricocheted through a packed defence for the waiting McKinnon to tap home from close range.
After the break Fairweather had an opportunity to extend our lead, after a move involving Stanley, McKinnon and Hazel, but again the Bath 'keeper pushed the shot wide for a corner. At the other end Bunting brought off a fine save to deny Withey from close-range.
City equalised after 64 minutes and what a bizarre goal it was. A shot from Boyle from the edge of the Slough penalty area sped across the home goalmouth, struck Mark Foran's foot and the spinning ball eluded the grasp of Bunting and the ball spun under his body into the net.
Friel came on for Fairweather with 20 minutes to go as we looked for the winner. We had a penalty appeal turned down as a fierce Friel cross was knocked down in the City 18-yard box apparently by Crowley's hand, but the referee waved play on.
As the game drew to a close Slough's attacks became increasingly threatening with good chances for Foran, Sayer and McKinnon. But despite three minutes of injury time Slough had to settle for a point.
