So the Trophy jinx continues! It is still a long time since a Slough side progressed to the last sixteen of this competition. With Fiore out injured, Slough had only one change to our line-up, but had the worst possible start, falling behind in the opening minute.
A left wing cross for Feltham on the right was then lobbed over the stranded Bunting inside the far post.
Slough battled back and both McKinnon and Sayer had efforts to level before they equalised five minutes before the break. Stanley's cross fell to McKinnon who was fouled in the home penalty area and Hazel sent the result ant spot-kick past the Sutton 'keeper.
Level at the break Slough took the initiative early in the second half, but fell behind after a misunderstanding between Whitby and Bunting. Whitby's cross failed to reach our 'keeper as Sutton's Evans nipped between them and crossed for the unmarked Feltham to guide the ball into an empty net.
We struggled to get back Into the match thereafter and fell further behind with ten minutes left. Whitby left a corner bound ball for Evans to nip in again and cross for the waiting Feltham to complete his hat trick.
Late on Hazel hit the post, but it was not to be and Slough are now left to concentrate on the Conference campaign.
