There were a number of notable absentees from Alan Davies' side that ran out to meet Bath on Tuesday night, and given the result some of them may be making a return soon.
Slough west behind thanks to some when the referee awarded a free kick for arguing when the ball was dead and Paul Randall put the ball home for Bath.
The hosts were two up eight minutes later when Boyle put a good shot in the back of the net from outside the box.
At times it was a scrappy game and after a string of niggles Mark Turkington was the one who found himself on the wrong end of a red card for a second bookable offence after 65 minutes.
Ten minutes later Stacey put the ball home for Slough to close the gap, but it was all too little too late.
Only Bunting, replacing Burns in the Slough goal saved them from losing by four or five, and there will be changes in store for the weekend's trip to Altrincham and next week's clash with Redbridge.
And the side will need to be a lot sharper for the FA Cup's final qualifying round a week on Saturday.
For Kingstonian, likely victors over Tooting and Mitcham, are quite capable of causing what would technically be an upset, but come as no real shock to many.
And they will come to Wexham Park with the memory of a multiple replay tie where they lost out by a single goal in the cup to the Rebels just a couple of seasons back.
Revenge would no doubt be very sweet.
