Two disastrous defensive errors in the dying minutes of the game enabled Leyton-Wingate to snatch a victory from Slough after skipper Keith White had scored a magnificent goal just four minutes from time to equalise Elijah Bee's first half strike in this Vauxhall Opel League Premier Division fixture.
On a quagmire of a pitch, with the rain driving down through the chill wind Slough came face to face with Leyton-Wingate, 9-1 conquerors of Hendon, looking for a victory to keep them in the race for the Premier Division title.
Gary Dodd almost got Slough off to a dream start after Thompsons through ball had found him in space with only 'keeper Mills to beat, but his chip ran just wide of the upright.
After this though, Slough began to struggle, their short, sharp passing to feet - not suited to these conditions as the ball held up and skidded on the surface with disconcerting irregularity.
Consequently, Leyton Wingate found the back of the net after only 12 minutes, Laine crossing from the right with the ball skidding through to Bee, who beat Lester with a shot just inside the near post.
The nearest Slough came to scoring after this set back was from a Thompson shot which just flew past the post after good work by Stanley.
The Rebels claims for a penalty were turned down after 39 minutes, Rake - replacing How- released Greenaway down the right flank to centre to Thompson, who tumbled to the ground with the ball at his feet, amid a group of Leyton Wingate defenders.
Early in the second half Leyton Wingate almost found themselves two up after Gordon was through but Lester managed to tap the ball from his feet. Watt was brought on for Adams after 54 minutes which seemed to bolster Slough's midfield as more chances began to be created.
Thompson centred to Stanley whose weak shot ended in the 'keepers arms, Greenaway shot just wide and the impressive Rake saw his effort tipped wide by 'keeper Mills.
Then, when all seemed lost, Stanley crossed dangerously only for Lovell to clear for a corner. Greenaway's low corner was cleared at the near post straight into the path of White who from 20 yards thumped an incredible rising ball into the top corner of the net.
Unfortunately in the ninetieth minute, Lester let a poor cross run past him straight into the path of Bolle, who rounded the 'keeper and hit home.
Three minutes later Leyton Wingate added insult to injury when Bee's cross found Taylor unmarked in front of goal. His clinical finish was something Slough would do well to learn from in their remaining matches this season.
