TWO first half goals from Eggie James helped Slough Town to complete the double over local rivals Staines Town in the Berger Isthmian League, Premier Division at Wexham Park.
Slough were given the perfect start when they took the lead after 15 minutes. Pat Morrissey, returning after injury, sent James clear on the right and after a fine weaving run into the penalty area he crashed the ball home past a stranded Rick Collier.
However, within two minutes Slough had presented Staines with an equaliser. An underhit back pass from Dave Yerby set Steve Reed clear and he kept his composure to shoot past the advancing Richard Teale.
Looking a vastly improved side from when the two teams met in October, Staines gradually began to dominate and put the Rebels' defence under considerable pressure.
But five minutes before half time a cross from John Beyer on the right finally resulted in James scoring after a scramble in the Staines goalmouth.
The second half saw Slough completely take control of the match and Micky Kiely added a third goal when a superb ball from Dave Russell split the Staines defence and sent Kiely through to score.
In the last minute of the match Slough were awarded a penalty after James was brought down having rounded Collier and looking set to score his hat trick. However from the spot-kick Friend's shot hit the crossbar and bounced back into play, depriving the Rebels of the £30 win bonus.
