Slough's slow but sure improvement in the Isthmian League Premier Division continued with Saturday's narrow victory over another team stranded deep in the bottom half of the table.
As had been the case when they defeated Wycombe Wanderers in midweek, Slough had to come from behind after a slipshod first half display.
Slough found themselves a goal down after only eight minutes when Salkeld netted for Croydon and it wasn't until the second half that the home side began to put their game together.
Even so, it took a harsh decision to enable Slough to equalise when Russell tumbled in the box. The linesman gave the penalty and Russell himself scored from the spot.
In the 75th minute Feely ran on to a through ball, bored through the mud and beat the keeper to give Slough a welcome victory.
