Great interest was centred in this match at the Dolphin Ground on Saturday, owing to the clubs having to meet in the final of the Berks and Bucks Cup, on Easter Monday, and there was a very large attendance.
Aylesbury were without I. G. Witherington, W. Heath and H. P. Cowley, while A. G. Smith was absent from the Slough forward line, resting a weak knee.
Slough had the best of the opening exchanges, but met with very hard luck, Cox hitting the post, and Ivall the crossbar.
Aylesbury improved as the game went on, the forwards playing pretty football, and from a free kick for hands, Simonds scored for them after twenty minutes play.
Just on half time, Poole equalised matters, after Cromack had saved magnificently from Cox, and ends were changed with the score at one all.
Twelve minutes from the restart, Poole put Slough ahead, and five minutes later Ivall beat Cromack for a third time with an awkward shot that screwed off his hands into the net.
For fully quarter of an hour Aylesbury had the best of it after this, the Slough men appearing satisfied with their position, and at last Hearn reduced Slough's lead from three to two.
Directly after Hearn missed an open goal.
In the last few minutes Slough penned Aylesbury round their goal, and from a free kick for a foul on Fisher, Poole registered a fourth item with the very last kick of the match.
