These clubs having played a pointless draw at Slough, on December 1st, met again at Aylesbury, before a good attendance.
Both had strengthened their teams, A. Summersby taking C. Jackson's place in the Slough eleven, and W. Turnham, F. Wheeler and H. Cowley appearing for W. L. Birtchnell, C. Moore, and W. Saunders on the Aylesbury side.
Cowley is the old Berks and Bucks County player, but had not taken part in an important match for two years.
The game opened fast and even, and half an hour had elapsed before Morris found the net for Slough. Mr MacDonald had signalled for the ball to be kicked off from the centre, when some Aylesbury spectators at the back of the goal called his attention to a hole in the side of the net, through which they alleged the ball had entered. On their testimony, and without consulting his linesmen, the referee altered his decision, disallowing the goal.
Five minutes later weak play by the Slough backs let in Wheeler, and Crocker missing his kick, Saunders scored an easy goal.
Directly after Poole equalised with a long shot, and ends ware changed with the score one all.
Eight minutes after the restart Morris wound up a dodgy run by beating Cromack, and although Aylesbury played up desperately, they could not get on terms again, having two points disallowed as offside.
Slough thus qualified to meet Stantonbury St. James in the semi-final at Maidenhead by two to one.
