Slough Town recorded a second win in a row at home in their 2-1 victory against Bromley at Arbour Park, writes Adam Novysedlák.
The home side had a great start when they took a 1-0 lead after 8 minutes of play. Eitel Goueth took a free kick from the right side of the box and found Mark Nisbet’s head, with the defender beating The Ravens’ keeper.
Bromley did not wait too long to respond as they tied the game only three minutes later. A midfield player made a good run on the right wing and his cross into the box was met by the striker who converted the chance. 1-1.
Both teams were able to create chances to add a second goal in the first half, especially two chances created by the away team stood out.
After half an hour of play, Bromley’s midfielder sent a great ball from his own half that sent their striker into a 1 v 1 situation against the goalkeeper, but George Rose made a great save.
A second chance came just before the half time whistle after home side produced a mistake right in front of their own box, but the Ravens’ striker sent the ball way too high.
Just as in the first half, Slough got a fantastic start in the second half as they scored four minutes after the break. Fans and players had a déjà vu moment as Emmanuel Nwokebuife scored nearly the same goal as in the last home game, he took a shot that got deflected in the box and ended up in the net. 2-1
Rebels then had a big chance to extend their lead only 10 minutes later, Sam Winsbury won the ball from the defender and lobbed the keeper, but missed the target.
Bromley’s biggest chance in the second half came in the 75th minute, but Rose was the hero of the situation. Our guests passed a good through ball onto the striker who aimed for the bottom corner but Rose made the save of the game as he kept it out.
After Tuesday’s win, Slough remain the only team that has been able to beat Bromley this season and remain at the top of the Suburban Football League.
