Slough crashed to their third consecutive league defeat as high flying Bridgwater Town came away from Holloways Park with a deserved three points.

Despite holding their own for the first thirty mintues, Slough were undone with two goals in the space of four minutes. Bridgwater broke down the right hand side and the cross to the middle found Ben Kirk in far too much space in the middle of the park and he was able to pick his spot past Barnard.

Slough nearly pulled one back as they forced a free kick down the left wing. The returning Abby Nsubuga flashed one across the face of goal, but nobody could get the telling touch to steer the ball on target and the ball went out harmlessly for a goal kick.

With the away side buoyed by the opening goal, the second came shortly after through a swift counter attack. A long diagonal ball over the top found Nat Pepperell with room to move into and he was able to fire past a stranded Barnard to double the Robins advantage.

The away side could have extended their lead through the impresive Tom Clarke as he beat Jon Mills on the right. Advancing into the area, he rounded Barnard but was taken out wide. Still maintaining control of the ball, he managed to evade challenges from Mills and Harper before firing at goal, but Barnard had got back and was able to block the shot before the ball was cleared.

The away side did have the ball in the net again in the first half, but Dan Forward was adjudged to have been caught offside in the middle of the park and the goal was ruled out.

Slough were nearly caught cold in the opening minutes of the second half, but one again had Barnard to thank as he made a fantastic double save from Pepperell and Clarke to keep the visitors at bay.

Clarke continued to look dangerous for the away side, but could not find the target. He pounced onto an error from Rebels skipper Daly to get in behind the defence but fired wide of the upright and soon after, just wide of the post.

Clarke was again on hand to make the most of an argument between the two Slough centre backs, running past them whilst they berated each other, but once again could not test Barnard in the Slough goal.

The away side played out the final minutes of the game and despite the introductions of Mugisha and debutant Landy Salaka, Slough could not make a chance on goal and finished the match without registering a shot.

Tough times ahead for the Slough management as they face a must win league game next Saturday and will hope to be able to get things prepared and right in the Tuesday night county cup clash at Didcot.
