In the end the best Slough could do on a windy Thursday night at Wexham Park was hold on to another draw against a side they had comfortably beaten just over a week earlier.
The Rebels seem to need an injection of pace and enthusiasm (or something stronger) as this season comes to an anxious climax and their heavy legs are unable to climb away from the desperate safety seeking sides below them.
The game against Bromsgrove was rarely little better than average and the only moment of not in the first 10 minutes was a cross from Peters which eluded both Steve Scott and Andy Sayer.
However in the 14th minute Slough got ihe lift that should have spurred them to greater things and most importantly three points. The brittle Bromsgrove defence succumbed to a sustained spell of home pressure and Alsford got ahead of the covering pack to fire a Quamina cross past veteran goalkeeper Ron Green - his first goal in senior football.
Such was Slough's superiority at this stage that Bunting's first call into action was to collect a limp Burgher shot on 21 minutes. Five minutes later a finely crafted move ended with the busy Scott firing over, while Slough themselves had to survive a minor scare when the ball became caught up among several pairs of flaying boots on their six yard line.
Slough must have felt confident of extending the advantage in the second half. Instead it was Bromsgrove who emerged after the interval fired-up and resolute and it paid off immediately.
Bunting and his defence were caught out by the wind and the flight of the ball defeated them falling at the feet of the grateful Creighton who sent the ball into the empty net. It was a rare moment of disarray in a Slough defence that looked composed and in control for the majority of the performance. Of course this one mistake was to cost them dear.
The visitors sensing blood now looked to finish what they had started and Dowson had to get his body in the way of a goal bound effort from Crisp before Taylor glanced a 'header over the top. Human loudhailer Briley was now in vocal overdrive as he saw even a point slipping away.
Sayer ballooned s shot over when Peters created the opening and Brighton wasted the visitors' last chance, but a point suited them rather more than Rebels.
