This match saw the debut of new signing Brian Lee, the return of skipper Briley from suspension and Fiore from injury. However, their combined impact was reduced when Slough lost Hazel after just 17 minutes through injury, with Mark Quamina coming on as a replacement.
Slough had a number of chances early on to take the initiative but a combination of luck and good goalkeeping kept them at bay. The eighth minute saw Briley release Stanley who in turn crossed for McKinnon, whose low shot was pushed around the post for a corner.
Slough had the best chance of the half two minutes before the break when a fine Sayer through ball put McKinnon behind the Farnborough defence, but with only the 'keeper to beat his shot was aimed straight at the 'keeper.
After the break the home side got more into the game and scored the decisive goal on the hour. A corner was only half-cleared to the edge of the box from where Coney drove his low hard shot against the post and it then spun in.
Thereafter Bunting had to be at his best to deny Leworthy on more than one occasion as Slough left gaps at the back pushing forward for the equaliser. But Slough failed to snatch a point as the home side held on for the single goal victory.
