Harrow Borough didn't know what hit them when Slough produced some fine finishing on Tuesday.

Had the Rebels found this sort of accuracy in front of goal against Aylesbury, they would still be top. But how different the story could have been early in the second half, with Slough 2-1 up and Mark Hopson clean through. He set up Eamon O'Connor to equalise. The linesman flagged and stood his ground for offside but the referee - Mr Coniam - acknowledged him twice to say the goal stood. In the end Gary Lester persuaded him to speak to the unmoving linesman, and the goal was eventually disallowed.

Tommy Langley didn't feature in the game after arriving late, and Robbie Johnson was selected at left back ahead of Mark Mallinson. Mark Adams returned from injury to play a fine game on the left against his old club, but Barry Rake, who was dropped, must have felt he was bearing the brunt of the Aylesbury defeat all by himself.

Slough started brightly enough, but impatience soon set in as the hurry for goals took hold. Thompson was superb, finding space on both the right and left, and Mark Adams was whipping in some fine crosses, and also making a problem of himself when he ventured into the Harrow box.

But the five man defence looked like it was having difficulties and movement from the defence wasn't as smooth as it should have been. Both Stanley and Thompson were denied early on but the game really burst into life on 41 minutes.

How beat La Ronde and crossed for Thompson and his near post back-heel to Rodgers who put it into his own net trying to clear.

A minute later Thompson's cross found Bobby Dell eight yards out, and with only the keeper to beat his poor shot was saved, but Mark Adams was on hand to finish.

Another minute later, and O'Connor had side footed home a right wing cross to make it 2-1 at the break.

In the 53rd minute, Harrow had their goal disallowed, but during the second half, while the game seemed messy and anxious in the Slough half, the Rebels banged in three more goals.

After 57 minutes, Thompson played a short corner to Adams, who crossed perfectly for Stanley to head home over the keeper.

Mark Hill was later booked for pushing and Lester made a fine save from Hopson before Slough cruised home.

Thompson raced into the box on 84 minutes and crossed to Adams who turned to score his second.

Right at the death, Rowe provided a fine cross from the right after neat work, and Trevor How finished well at the far post, to make it five.
