Premier Interleague Cup
This was a total shock to Slough supporters, unused to seeing other sides score like this against their favourite team.
It was a night when the club went out of the Clubcall Cup, and on which at least eight of the team had performances they will want to forget.
Poor weather conditions didn't help as Slough faced the heavy wind and rain in the first half and found themselves 3-0 down by the end of it. In the second, the rain stopped and the wind abated, so they hardly had the opportunity to use the elements.
Hayes looked impressive from the start and went ahead after 27 minutes when Earl Whiskey made a goal for Tony Kelly to head in. Three minutes later a cross from the right saw Bunting only able to flick the ball and as he caught it, found himself bundled into the net by Graves but the goal was allowed to stand.
Close to half time a tackle by Tony King, unworthy of him and of the club, gave away a free kick and from it Payne went through the defence to lay on a goal for Kelly.
After the break, Slough completely controlled the game for nearly 15 minutes until in the 58th, Hayes got a break and Graves scored with great ease.
The Rebels efforts got less and less positive, with only Gary Dodd and Steve Thompson showing to their normal ability and five minutes from time Hayes substitute Walton made it five.
It was left to Thompson to head a consolation in the last 15 seconds of the match and prevent this being Slough's worst defeat for something like three decades.
