Slough picked up the maximum points when they visited Boreham Wood, on Tuesday evening, and so gained revenge for the odd goal in seven defeat they suffered when Boreham were at Wexham Park, in September.
It was a sound all round performance by Slough and a well-deserved success. Slough made only one change from Saturday's line up at Hayes, Cooke coming in for Friend.
Slough had the strong gusty wind behind them in the first half and they went off with an intense bombardment of the home goal which suggested they were going to sweep the opposition off the Park.
Lee missed a golden chance during this hectic opening play but Boreham Wood gradually drove the Rebels back and when they had a spell of attacking they struck the crossbar.
Thirty five minutes had gone when Slough scored, Somers made an intelligent solo run which finished with his scoring a great goal.
As the whistle went for half time Feeley was through with only the keeper to beat.
A one goal lead seemed hardly enough with the home team having the gale to help them in the second half but the Slough defence offered a solid and well drilled resistance.
Boreham Wood strung together a lot of attacks and in the 62nd minute Batten equalised but they never looked goal scoring potential when they reached the goal mouth. Porter had plenty to do and did it very well.
Twelve minutes from the end Feeley chipped the ball to Russell, who managed to guide the ball into the net between the diving goalkeeper and a post. In the dying moments Porter saved at point blank range, the ball going for a corner which could not be taken as time was up.
