A close game was anticipated from the meeting of these teams at the Dolphin ground, Slough, on Saturday, but, to the general surprise, Slough had matters all their own way.
For the first few minutes the home club had only 10 men, but nevertheless they were the first to score through Cox. A run by Prior from the halfway line resulted in a second, and J. Ivall headed through a centre by Cox. A fast drive by Young from fully 40 yards out beat the Maidenhead custodian for the fourth time.
In the second half Maidenhead only got to the Slough end half a dozen times, but the defence was much better than before the interval, and only one more point was conceded. This was secured by J. Ivall from a centre by Prior, and Slough won by the substantial margin of 5-0.
