These teams met in the return league fixture at the Dolphin on Saturday, but the match was not an interesting character, the wind greatly interfering with the play.
For the first half-hour play was of a regular character. Chesham having the best of the exchanges. At the end of 30 minutes Goodyer scored from a pass by Nash.
Following this, Prior got in a clinking shot which went wide of the post. A corner was negated and Chesham led at half-time by 1 to nil.
Prior signalled the restart by a capital run, whilst on the other side Jacques tested Werrell with a spanker. Subsequently Slough pressed, and from a neat pass by Cox, Roberts obtained the equalising goal.
For a time Chesham assumed the ascendancy, but could not add to the score.
Once Smith and Cox made a fine rash through the centre, and just after Roberts forged his way ahead and shot. The leather passed along the line but Poole saved it and beating the back he centred, Cox sending the ball into the net. According to the referee's judgement, however, Cox was offside, although Mr Carr was one of the few who thought so.
It was not until the final stages of the game that the Slough forwards woke up, and several shots were directed at the citadel. Two corners were forced from the last of these the leather was banged straight for goal, but it struck one of the Chesham backs who was standing almost beneath the bar.
No more scoring took place and the game ended in a draw.
