Slough Town continued their strong preseason form with a 2-1 victory over Bristol Manor Farm in a competitive encounter at The Creek.
Coming off the back of wins against Virginia Water and Amersham Town, Slough faced a tougher challenge in Bristol Manor Farm, who finished fourth in the Southern League Division One South last season.
Manor Farm struck first, with Dan Dodimead capitalising on a defensive lapse to slot home the opening goal. Despite this early setback, Slough responded with determination. The visitors drew level through a well-taken penalty by Slavi Spasov, who showed composure and precision to beat the keeper.
The momentum shifted further in Slough’s favour when David Ogbonna showcased his individual brilliance. Spotting the Manor Farm keeper off his line, Ogbonna unleashed a stunning left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area, which sailed into the net, giving Slough a 2-1 lead which they took into the break.

Slough's initial lineup, featuring Charlie Horlock in goal and a backline of Josh Jackman, Lexus Beeden, Dan Bayliss and Gabe George, provided a solid foundation. Midfielders Jeanmal Prosper and Leon Chambers-Parillon, along with attackers David Ogbonna, John Gilbert, Sam Evans, and Slavi Spasov, worked hard to overturn the early deficit.
As the second half began, Slough made several changes, aiming to utilize their full squad of 15 players. Dan Roth and Oliver Spicer added fresh legs to the midfield, and John Ufuah and Gary Abisogun came in to bolster the attack.
The second half, while goalless, did not lack excitement or effort. Manor Farm pushed for an equalizer, but Slough held firm. On the hour mark, manager Scott Davies reintroduced Chambers-Parillon, Jackman and George, ensuring maximum playing time for the whole squad.

After the game, Davies commented: “A proper game of football. Not often in pre-season that tackles are flying in with both teams going for it. Perfect game for us and I’m sure Bristol Manor Farm too.”
Slough Town now turn their attention to Tuesday evening’s home game against AFC Dunstable, as they continue their preparations for the 2024/25 campaign.
