Slough continued their pre-season with a 2-2 draw at The Stacatruc Stadium.
Scott Davies chose to split his senior squad across the two matches against Thatcham Town and Risborough Rangers, and included Ryan North, Kevin Bilicki, Alfie Tucker and Kian Austin from our EDS squad, and trialist Harvey Harry.
With three minutes remaining of an uneventful first half, a neat one-two between Elliot Benyon and Johnny Goddard on the edge of the box resulted in Benyon tucking the ball into the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Thatcham started the second half strongly and levelled early on. A good block from Gabe George on the left was not enough to stop the ball reaching a Thatcham man in the middle and he slammed low into the net under goalkeeper Ryan North.
Slough later had a good chance with Dan Bayliss heading narrowly over from a Matt Lench corner.
But with 63 minutes played, Harvey Harry was put through and was brought down with a late challenge. Johnny Goddard stepped up to fire the resulting free kick into the bottom corner past the dive of the Thatcham goalkeeper.
Two minutes from time, a long-range effort flew over North to level the scores again in spectacular style.
Slough are back in action against Risborough Rangers on Wednesday evening.
