Slough put in a comfortable display against Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal U18s to seal victory at Arbour Park, writes Henry Cheal.

Though it was a 1-0 win, the Rebels were unfortunate not to get more as they were dominant throughout the first half.

The only goal of the game came inside the opening five minutes, as a mistake from the Arsenal defence gave the ball to Ben Harris who slid in at the goalkeeper’s feet to guide the ball home.

Inside 20 minutes, Slough hit the woodwork as Elliot Benton received a through ball and attempted a chip shot over the keeper, but the ball just scraped the woodwork.

Then just on the half hour mark, Harris hit the frame of the crossbar after Joe Dandy slotted in a wonderful cross that fell straight towards him.

In the dying embers, Arsenal tried to find an equaliser and Nwaneri was brought down. He took the resulting free kick, which curved around the wall but Jonathan North did well to get a hand to the curving ball.
