Slough Town dominated against Metropolitan Police Reserves and in a game full of goals easily took the three points at Arbour Park, writes Adam Novysedlák.
Slough started the game very well as Harry Williams had two good chances in the first 10 minutes to open the scoring. The first came from the left side when Abdi Mohammed crossed the ball to Johnivy Williams, whose shot was kept out by the goalkeeper. The second came from the other side when Johnivy Williams crossed it into the box but Harry Williams’ header went over the bar.
The Rebels broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Ada Okorogheye sent the ball in from the left wing and Johnivy Williams put the ball into the net with his chest. 1-0
Slough added a second goal after the half hour mark when Okorogheye got past multiple defenders and finished with a wonderful individual effort into the bottom corner. 2-0
That was not all from the home team as they added two more goals in added time of the first half. Johnivy Williams scored his second of the game as he was at the end of a nice cross from Barsa Mir from the right wing. 3-0
Alfie Anderson then scored the Slough fourth goal from the penalty spot. 4-0
After the break, The Met started to cause more problems for the home defence but it was the home side that scored the first goal of the second half. Harry Williams made a good run into the box but the goalkeeper kept out his first shot, so Williams followed it with another one which was too much for the keeper. 5-0
The away team also got the courtesy of a penalty kick after an hour of play but the home keeper Finn Rushton brilliantly saved it.
Four minutes later, Slough added their sixth goal of the game. Following an unsuccessful corner, Slough captain Pierce McNamara found Okorogheye at the far post who also scored his second. 6-0
Metropolitan Police finally scored in 68th minute when the cross of one of their players surprised Rushton as it fell into the net. 6-1
Only seconds later, Brandon Rooks - who came off the bench - got a great through ball from Harry Williams and slotted it into the bottom corner. 7-1
The Slough goal machine didn’t stop at this number and Sam Winsbury, who also came on in the second half got his name on the scoresheet. Winsbury got the ball in the box, tricked his defender and struck it into the net. 8-1
Only minutes before the end of regular time, Winsbury joined his teammates with two goals next to their names. Rooks crossed it into the box and Winsbury comfortably took control of the ball and promptly put the ball into the net. 9-1
After a strong win, Slough remain at the top of the Suburban Football League in front of their next opponent Chippenham Town.
