Slough Town Ladies travelled to Kingsclere for a tricky league encounter on a cold Sunday afternoon.
Our opponents for the day had had some good results of late and sat comfortably in mid-table.
After a concentrated warm up Slough started on the front foot. After some nice interplay in midfield the ball was played through to Abi Canvin, whose finish left the goalkeeper no chance and gave the supporters, who had travelled a distance, an early lift after one minute in the cold weather.
This tempo continued from Slough and after 7 minutes Abi bagged her second of the day.
Kingsclere seemed rocked by this and were struggling to get any foothold on the game and on 27 minutes Abi secured her hat-trick with a clinical finish.
But Slough were still not finished. When Slough won a corner which was whipped into the box, Lauren headed the ball into the net, effectively sealing the points for Slough and making the half time score 0-4.
To their credit Kingsclere reorganised, stopping many Slough attacks with strong defending.
Slough should have added to their tally as they never really looked in any danger with the second half being played mainly in the Kingsclere half, but Slough were unable to find the final finish to increase their tally.
Overall, this was a good all-round team performance in cold conditions.
