The return with Maidenhead was played at Slough on boxing day before a large holiday crowd.
Both sides included several reserves, and in the absence of Norris, Lucas, once a regular member of the team but now home on holiday, led the attack and to him fell the honour of securing both the Slough goals.
Clark "kept" magnificently for the home side, and it was through his smartness that Maidenhead failed to score.
Marcham was the best of the visiting forwards, and Clark brought off some great saves from him. The brothers Care and Vic Blay defended finely for Maidnehead, but their half-backs were weak and the forwards ragged.
In addition to Clark, McConnell and snow were responsible for much good work in the Slough defence, and Grant was the pick of a useful forward line.
