Slough gained a valuable point at Worthing which moved them above Walton & Hersham and off the bottom of the table. The effort and desire of the young team cannot be faulted and they are being backed to the hilt by the supporters despite not getting the results their work ethic deserves.

Both sides have struggled this season and having played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, which included a mass brawl involving all players and some management of both sides, earlier in the season, the two sides again could not be separated.

Slough created themselves a half chance when Matt Miller nearly got onto a Terry Davies shot but the visitors looked more likely to open the scoring in the middle third of the half. The end of the half belonged to Slough and whilst Miller did have the ball in the net, stealing it off the keeper as he prepared to kick it out of his hands, the goal was rightly ruled out by the match officials.

Both sides continued to press, but limited quality and chances in the final third led to the game remaining scoreless going into half time.

The game continued evenly between the two sides but both continued to give their all and had an exchange of chances in the opening stages of the second half. Jamie Jackson did well to keep out a headed effort and Steve Daly saw a header cleared off the line at the other end. Terry Davies went close for Slough and Worthing had two efforts just wide.

The away side took the lead with just under twenty minutes left. Andrews sliding in at the back post to convert a cross. Worthing now had a lead to defend and were happy to try and soak up any pressure Slough could mount.

Whilst the Rebels continued to press forwards, they were having little joy until the final minute of injury time. Jamie Jackson played a free kick into the area from deep with just about every other player inside the Worthing box. Steve Daly got the vital touch with a flicked header into the net with what turned out to be the last meaningful touch of the game.
