Owing to the floods the previous Saturday, Oxford City were unable to replay their match with Slough in the Amateur Cup competition, and Slough were ordered to proceed to Oxford on Saturday last to decide the game, which at the first meeting, on the Dolphin Ground, resulted in a draw of three goals each, after extra time had been played.
Then the Oxford City only brought a weak team, but on Saturday they had a good eleven out. Slough had a mixed team, the services of several of the 1st Scots Guards being brought into requisition. The game proved of a very one sided character, Oxford having matters their own way throughout, and they ultimately won by eight goals. Plumtree (4), Howkins (2), West and Walker to love.
