Slough climbed to the top of the Berger Isthmian League on Tuesday when they defeated Hitchin for the second time in three days at Hitchin.
Slough have played more games than many of their rivals but they are now playing really well and are in the driving seat on merit.
Having beaten Hitchin at Wexham Park on Saturday they tackled Tuesday's task with confidence and under terrible conditions put up a fine show.
Feeley gave them the lead in the 14th minute but right on half time Hitchin equalised and in an exciting second half Turl headed a classical winning goal off a corner by Cooke.
Metcalfe was substituted by Lee before the end and Turl was the victim of a harsh booking by the referee.
