Slough Town striker Paul Lee hit his second match winner in four days to end the club's faint relegation fears and fully restore their confidence in Tuesday's Isthmian League game.
Slough, who until they beat Hendon on Saturday were without a home league win this year, have now rediscovered a lot of their old fire and determination.
They almost scored in the 26th minute when Feely sent Russell away and his cross from the left was turned against a post by frantic defender Lock.
Feely went off injured three minutes from half-time and substitute Somers' first touch led to Slough scoring in the 44th minute. He knocked the ball to Gane whose pass found Lee in a seemingly offside position but the linesman's flag stayed down and Lee ran on to fire in off a post.
Hunter missed a second-half ‘sitter’ for Walthamstow and Mackay cleared off the line from Bradford. But improved displays by Friend, Gane and Horastead earned Slough the points.
